Service Description
Jewellery Making 10 week course - Intermediate level This course is designed for people who have previously attended the 10 week beginners course, equivalent intensive course or students with good prior knowledge and experience of basic jewellery making techniques. The scheme of work for this course is a lot more fluid than that of the beginners course meaning students will have time to work on their own designs and continue practicing techniques. This course includes an optional tube setting project and there will be a £5 charge for materials for this should you wish to join in. We can also do some enamelled copper jewellery and there will also be a £5 charge of this to cover the cost of materials if you choose to join in (These projects are optional). Students will be responsible for supplying their own silver for projects but will continue to have access to a wide range of jewellery making tools and equipment. Other projects can be covered on request such as collet setting, flush setting, claw setting, Delft clay casting, keum-boo and more. This will discussed at the start of the course however please be aware it is not possible to cover all of these techniques in 1 term. We usually choose a couple of skills each term. Please note, attending a couple of 1 day sessions is not sufficient prior experience to enable you to progress straight to this course as you should be able to work semi independently. I don't teach the basics such as sizing a ring and basic soldering on this level as you are expected to already have those skills. See the beginners course break down for a summary of skills you are expected to have prior to attending this level. Having those core skills will enable learners to progress during this level. This course will run continuously this term with no half term break
