Bezel Set Charm Bracelet (Chain or Bangle) This course is a fantastic 2 day introduction to soldering and it's packed with techniques and skills . It is suitable for beginners but due to the amount of soldering tasks previous experience would be useful (it's not essential though). It is a great class if you are just starting out or if you want to practice your soldering using multiple grades of solder. The project is a chain bracelet or bangle/bangles with a bezel set stone charm and a stamped pebble charm. Day 1 - The first day will be spent making a chain bracelet. You will be supplied with enough silver to create a series of silver ring shapes that you can add texture to and you can also create various shapes such as round, oval or square links. You will then connect these together with some smaller rings to form a chain before making and adding a toggle clasp. If you prefer you could make a bangle or 2 depending on the design or the style you choose. For example you could make 2 slim bangles that you connect together with your charms or make 1 slightly thicker bangle to add your stone/charms to. If you want lots of soldering practice though the chain bracelet is perfect for this and I will show you a couple of different methods of creating ring shapes. Day 2 - We will concentrate on creating a bezel setting from scratch for either a gemstone, sea glass or a dichroic glass cabochon. I have a supply of stones to choose from or please feel free to bring one along with you. Stones must be flat backed cabochon stones, glass cabs or sea glass, which would need to be reasonably flat although some basic cold working can be done to flatten one surface. In addition to this we will melt down a small piece of silver scrap into a nugget that will then be hammered and formed into a pebble shape. You can then stamp a design onto it with a metal punch (I have loads of designs) or you could add an initial or 2. These 2 charms will then be added to your bracelet. Materials included are - Day 1 - * silver wire to create a chain bracelet with toggle clasp or * slim silver wire to create 2 x bracelets or * slightly thicker silver wire to create 1 x chunkier bangle (max thickness is 2.5 mm) Day 2 - * Silver to create a bezel setting * A choice of stones (sea glass, gemstones, dichroic glass) * a small amount of silver to melt into the pebble charm plus jump rings etc. .
