Service Description
Jewellery Making/Silversmithing for Beginners (8 week course) This course is suitable for beginners or anyone with minimal experience with silver smithing. We will start with using copper to learn basic techniques such as how to anneal metal, filing, forming, cutting metal with a piercing saw, adding texture and soldering. There is a set scheme of work with each week covering different skills. These skills will then be utilised in a bezel setting project. This course includes a set project of bezel setting and there is the option to do this in silver. You will make either a bezel set ring or pendant (either a gemstone, dichroic glass cabochon or sea glass). If you wish to complete the project in silver there will be a charge of £10 to cover the silver and stones. Copper is included in the price of the course. The final 2 weeks of the course students are free to complete their own projects and students are responsible for purchasing their own silver for any projects they wish to complete. Suppliers will be discussed early in the course so you can be prepared for this. This course runs for 8 Sessions. Start Date - Friday 2nd May Half Term - Friday 30th May Final Session - Friday 27th June
