PLEASE NOTE: This workshop is better suited to those with some silver soldering experience (not with a soldering iron) and prior silver smithing experience. We don't do a copper practice on this workshop and move straight to creating the silver bezels. I have however had beginners attending bezel setting sessions so it is not necessarily essential to have previous experience but I do strongly recommend that you do but if you choose to book please be aware there is lots of soldering work during this class and it is more difficult than a basic ring making session for example. * New Workshop * - This class is a slight variation on other bezel setting workshops in that you will create a show stopper of a ring featuring 2 bezels! You will create a ring with a bezel set stone/sea glass at either end and you can either create a 'wrap around' style or a 'between the finger' style ring using half round wire for the shank. Both of these styles of ring are very comfortable to wear and have a little bit of give with the size, meaning that if your fingers change in size you won't grow out of your ring. You can choose from sea glass, sparkly dichroic glass or even gemstones to make your ring. The bezels are created from scratch using bezel strip and silver sheet to create the setting for your chosen stone/glass. This is then soldered onto the shank of the ring. Silver and small stones/sea glass are provided however please feel free to bring your own stone/sea glass if you have something you want to use and we can check for suitability. Sea glass can be cold worked a little to flatten the bottom so that it sits level in a bezel. I have a good selection of sea glass and dichroic and some small gemstones. I also have a supply of larger dichroic glass and gemstones that can be purchased on the day if you wish (card payment only). There will be size limitations though due to make sure you have enough silver to create your ring and larger pieces are harder to solder so if you are not confident with soldering then it's best not to go too big.
