Service Description

Jewellery School - 4 day intensive course This course is suitable for beginners and is a great introduction to jewellery making. Starting with using copper you will learn basic techniques such as how to anneal metal, filing, forming, cutting metal with a piercing saw, adding texture and soldering. You will also make a bezel set ring or pendant (setting either a gemstone, dichroic glass or sea glass). Silver and stones for this will be supplied along with lots of copper for practicing each technique. You should also have time to do some enamelled copper jewellery. If you have prior knowledge of jewellery making then you can use the time within the first couple of days for either a refresher or to make items of your choice (Copper will be supplied however if you have a design in mind to make in silver then please purchase your own silver prior to attending). This is a 4 day intensive course that includes the following projects with materials supplies- Copper to practice initial techniques. Simple ring project - Silver supplied (see simple ring workshop for details) Stone set ring or pendant project - All silver plus a stone supplied (gemstone, sea glass or glass cabochon). If you are feeling confident with soldering you have the option to upgrade your stone to a larger one with a choice of larger stones available to buy along with additional silver for this. (Stones included in the price are roughly 10 mm in size) Enamelled copper jewellery project - Copper and enamels supplied Please bring a packed lunch or food can be bought from the onsite cafe.
