Service Description

Jewellery Summer School - 5 day intensive course This course is suitable for beginners and is jam packed with techniques and projects. Day 1 and 2 - Starting with using copper you will learn basic techniques such as how to anneal metal, filing, forming, cutting metal with a piercing saw, adding texture and soldering and how to make a ring to size. The first 2 days are spent practicing these skills. Day 3 - we will start working with silver and make a couple of silver rings from a choice of styles. You can incorporate one of these into the bezel setting project on day 4 if you like. Day 4 - Bezel setting a gemstone /cabochon or sea glass. You can make a ring or halo pendant incorporating a stone creating the setting from scratch. Day 5 - Spinner ring project. We will make a silver spinner with 1 sterling silver spinner. This is a 5 day intensive course that includes the following projects with materials supplies- Copper to practice initial techniques. Silver wire to make 2 simple silver rings. You can adapt these and turn into an infinity pendant by interlinking them, keep them as 2 separate rings or use one in the bezel setting project of day 4. Stone set ring/halo pendant project - All silver plus a choice of stones supplied (gemstone, sea glass or dichroic glass cabochon up to a size of approximately 12mm). Spinner ring- silver for the main band plus enough silver for 1 spinner. (copper or brass ones can also be added) Please bring a packed lunch or food can be bought from the onsite cafe.
