Jewellery Summer School - 5 day intensive course This course is suitable for beginners and is jam packed with techniques and projects. Starting with using copper you will learn basic techniques such as how to anneal metal, filing, forming, cutting metal with a piercing saw, adding texture and soldering. You will then have the chance to undertake several projects including making a bezel set ring or halo pendant (either gemstone, glass cabochon or sea glass). We will also make a a spinner ring and a tube set ring (you can add your tube set ring to your spinner ring if you like) There may also be time to do a little bit of enamelling and copper and enamells will be supplied to practice. If you have prior knowledge of jewellery making then you can use the time within the first couple of days for either a refresher or to make items of your choice (Copper will be supplied for test peices however if you have a design in mind to make in silver then please purchase your own silver prior to attending). This is a 5 day intensive course that includes the following projects with materials supplies- Copper to practice initial techniques. Simple silver ring project - Silver supplied (see simple ring workshop for details) Stone set ring/halo pendant project - All silver plus a stone supplied (gemstone, sea glass or glass cabochon). Tube set ring - silver and a 4 mm Swarovski crystal supplied Spinner ring- silver for the main band plus enough silver for 1 spinner. (copper or brass ones can also be added) Time permitting- Enamelled copper jewellery project - Copper and enamels supplied Lots of tea and coffee is also provided (Regular and decaf) and biscuits/cakes. Please bring a packed lunch or food can be bought from the onsite cafe.
