New Course - Silver Clay Keepsake Jewellery (pet paw prints, baby hand and foot prints & finger prints etc) PLEASE READ THE FULL DETAILS BELOW This course will introduce students to creating jewellery from silver clay that incorporates prints taken from finger prints, animal paw prints or baby hand/foot prints etc. It is suitable for beginners however prior experience with silver clay would be useful. PLEASE NOTE THE FOLLOWING - You will need your chosen print in advance of the course taking place so you will need to either already have a copy of the print or take a print direct from the person or animal you wish to capture in the piece of jewellery. The print needs to be a good quality, strong black print on a white background and this will need to be emailed or posted to me about 7 days before the course so that I can print onto transparent film ready for the day. If necessary a kit can be purchased from me to create a print using a special paper to capture the print. This will be available to purchase on the website soon. The print will then be available in several sizes so that you can choose the preferred one. Please note that it can be difficult to get significant detail from finger prints so they need to be high quality with plenty of detail. We will start the day creating a texture tile from your print and then I will show you process of transferring the print to create a texture tile. Once the tile is ready I will show you the basics of rolling the clay, transferring your print into the clay using the tile and cutting a shape. This can either be a pendant/charm or a pair of small earrings. We will practice with some air drying clay to begin with while you plan your design. We will then dry and refine your design before firing with a torch. The following materials are included to create your jewellery - 1 x 7 gram packs of art clay silver to make a pendant/charm or small earrings. Materials to create 1 small texture tile that is then yours to take home and use again to create more jewellery if you wish.
