Service Description
Silver clay earrings - suitable for beginners (some small components involved though so will be a little bit fiddly). This is great workshop if you want to learn some basic silver clay techniques along side some simple soldering methods. During this workshop we will explore using silver clay to make some earrings. You will learn how to use mini moulds to create some 3D shapes such as shells, hearts, butterfly's and flowers. You can practice a few designs first using some air drying clay to help you decide which ones to then make with silver clay. Once the silver clay is dried we will refine it ready for firing (torch firing method). Once your silver pieces are fired you with then solder on some earring pins to create your studs. If you prefer you can solder on a jump ring to then add an earring hook to make small drop earrings. Materials included- 7g pack of Art clay silver which should be enough to make 2 pairs of small studs (depending on size) or 1 pair of drop earrings. Findings such as sterling silver earring pins plus butterfly backs or jump rings plus earring hooks will be provided Please note - we will only be using moulds to create designs by pushing the clay into the moulds, we won't do any rolling and texturing etc with this session.
