This ring sizing/calculation chart is for jewellers and silversmiths who are making rings to a specific size or measurement and it will tell you how much wire is needed for the size you are creating (it is not a ring sizer or chart for working out what size a ring is, you need to know the letter size you wish to make).
If you are familiar with the process of making a ring, you will know there is maths involved when calculating how much wire is needed in order to accurately measure and create a ring with minimal or no waste metal. Doing lots of maths can be a pain, (unless of course you like maths), so this cheat sheet will eliminate the need to multiple the wire thickness by 3.14 and add to the inside circumference, as the chart shows these calculation totals.
The chart shows the total calculations for ring sizes starting from size H up to a Z+5 (24 sizes in total) and gives totals for wire thicknesses in 1 mm, 1.2 mm, 1.5 mm, 1.8 mm and 2 mm (These are the wire thicknesses I most commonly use). It also shows the inside circumference for each size before any wire thickness is added.
This is a digital copy of the ring calcuation cheat sheet plus instructions on how to read the chart. After purchase you will receive a link to download and save/store the chart on your device or print out a copy to keep in your workshop. Plese note the link will expire after 30 days so make sure you save a copy of the chart. The image shows size H as an example.
Instructions on how to read the chart are included. No other information is included such as instructions on how to make ring or any other ring sizing information.
