Service Description

This is a new short taster workshop exploring ways of adding colour to pre-anodised aluminium to make colourful aluminium jewellery. This is such a fantastic creative process and it's one of my own favourite things to do! The first part of the day will be all about adding colour. I will show you a couple of my favourite methods of adding colour using ink and dye and also stamping methods. Each small piece of pre-anodised aluminium is like a blank canvas to work on. The colour will be sealed and there should be sufficient time to colour around 5 or 6 small panels of aluminium. The rest of the day will be spent turning your colourful aluminium panels into jewellery. I will show you how to cut shapes using disc cutters to create pendants and earrings. Any of your unused coloured panels can be taken home to work on in your own time. Materials included - Pre-anodised aluminium, a selection of inks/dyes/stamps etc to add colour and pattern. Please note - no silver findings are included in the price but I have a supply of silver plated jump rings and earring wires. No chains are provided. This course does not cover info on how to anodise aluminium, we will only be using pre-anodised aluminium.
