Service Description

Jewellery School - 4 day intensive course This course is suitable for beginners and is a great introduction to jewellery making. Starting with using copper you will learn basic techniques such as how to anneal metal, filing, forming, cutting metal with a piercing saw, adding texture and soldering. The first 2 days are spent learning these skills and we will then spend day 3 and 4 working in silver. The main project of this course is bezel setting however we will make several items from sterling silver. This is a 4 day intensive course that includes the following projects. (Please note that due to the high price of silver at the moment, silver for the projects is not included in the course fee) 1 x simple silver ring 1 x silver ring using fancier wire such as twisted, beaded or a wavy design (there are several designs to choose from) alternatively you could also choose to join these 2 rings together to make a pendant. 1 x Bezel set ring or halo pendant - (gemstone, sea glass or glass cabochon). There will be an additional charge for the silver needed for these projects and this will depend of the prices of silver at the time of course and what you choose to make. As a guild the silver required for the set projects may be around £40. I will advise more on this a few days before to course starts via email to those who are booked to attend.
