Service Description

Skill Level - previous experience recommended (this session is slightly more challenging so it is beneficial to have attended a session before). The soldering involved in this class is a little more advanced than other workshops so prior attendance of a workshop that involves silver soldering would be an advantage. This class is aimed at learners wanting to advance their stone setting skills so if you choose to book as a beginner please keep in mind that this technique is more challenging than a basic beginner class. During this session you will make either a wish bone ring or a teardrop pendant incorporating a tube setting. We will start by creating the ring or pendant before attaching a tube setting. You can either use a pre made tube setting (this is advisable if you have limited prior experience) or you can create a setting using silver tube and burring a seat for a stone to make the tube setting yourself and learn this skill (previous experience recommended for this option). It may also be possible to create a round, square or oval pendant depending on previous experience. Materials supplied are - slim round silver wire for 1 ring or pendant, alternatively D shaped wire can also be used for the ring. 1 x pre made tube setting or tube to create a setting plus CZ stones to set. Chains are not included but it may be possible to purchase one on the day depending on supplies available . (please note all items are made from slim or half round wire like the images shown, there won't be any alternative such as sheet metal)
